About Rachael & Dogs walk this way

My name is Rachael and I am a massive animal lover, who is very experienced and reliable. I have 3 rescue dogs, a horse and 2 rescue cats. I have always had a passion for animal welfare and have had animals all my life growing up. I rescued Baz and Chaz from Romania in 2014, sadly I had to make the hardest decision in March 2019 to have Baz put to sleep. He is the reason behind the whole set up of 'Dogs Walk This Way' and 'Dogs Walk This Way Rescue'. I now have Chaz, Elsa a 3 legged girl and Peety a 14 year old male, nearly blind and death doggie, all are from Romania.
From an early age I have always had all sorts of animals from hamsters, rabbits to cats and horses. I had no interest whatsoever at school as all I wanted to do was work with horses and I felt that I did not need my exams to work with horses so I left school a year earlier than I should have and went straight into college at 15 years old. I successfully completed my Diploma in Equine Studies at Merrist Wood College and went on to work at various different yards.
I have been heavily involved in all sorts of charities such as Cats Protection, RSPCA and many other local charities. After many years in a corperate enviroment I came accross Basil on the internet and adopted him In March 2014 this drew my attention to what was happening in Romania which is absolutely heart-wrenching and I could not sit back and do nothing, so myself and two friends set up a charity and visited Romania to volunteer helping save dogs from death. I have successfully re-homed over 1,600 dogs since April 2014 and in December 2016 I decided to set up on my own as Dogs Walk This Way Rescue and we now have over 12,000 supporters on Facebook alone. We have raised enough money through fundraising that we now have our very own kennels, one in Surrey and one in Hampshire along with several fosterers in the South East. We have a huge network of volunteers and a core team who are responsible for looking after the dogs and rehoming of the dogs.
Since doing this, I began to realise that I was not supposed to be working in an office for the rest of my working life and I needed a career change where I can make a difference to peoples lives and do what I love the most, which is to spend my time with animals that need me, I set up Dog Walk This Way dog walking in 2014 and have since completed many courses with the IMDT and now offer behavioural and training services. I have years of experinece dealing with rescue dogs who have needed rehabilitaion so specialise in working with all rescue dogs.
I can assist you on a regular basis or on an ad-hoc basis with dog walking. If you need help with training or any behavioral issues, I can help with this too.
